I dont think that parents or children hate each other.I think at times they could dislike each other.i think its more common for child to hate there parents because they wont let u do surtan things.I always call my mom overprotective all the time and i dont think she hates me for that.I also told her i hate her a couple times too but i dont really mean it im just mad at that time. Leah D.
There are certain times in my life as a teenager where I have "hated" my parents. I've never "hated" my parents, but I did disapprove of their parenting most of the time. When I look at Gianna, I think it is impossible to "hate" her. She will probably let me know what a terrible parent I've been when she reaches 14 or so, but I'll still love her.
Think about this...Could Lacy Houghton ever hate Peter? Should she? He did kill 10 people and ruined the lives of thousands. Her tender boy turned murderer may be the one instance to despise your child.
I think that parents should never be able to hate there kids.If your parents ever said they hated you that has to be the worst thing they could ever say to a kid. parents should always love you no matter what. Kids should not hate there parents either. I know if i ever told my parents i hated them that would effect them alot. I think you have the right to be mad at them but never hate them. Like what if you told them you hated them and they died in a car accident or something the next day you would feel horrible for the rest of your life. so i think that the word hate should never be used.
I think that parents should not really hate their kids in most cases. But for a parent tho hate their child it has to be because of something that the kid has done to the parent that would be life threatening or really sick. But allot of the time parents will hate them for a few years and then they will see what they have been missing out on and they will go back and catch up with them and they will not hate them any more. But I think that it is easier for someone to hate their parents because the parents have more things that they could do to their child to make the child hate the parents. I dont think that this is right but in some cases. like my mom does not like her mom because she made my mom and my aunts life miserable because she would force them to do things and she would do things when my grandpop wasnt home and blame it on my mom and my aunts and my grandfather would punish my mom and my aunts. My grandfather was really nice exept when he had to put the hammer down it came crashing doun, he has changed and he is really cool now. But my grand mom hasnt. She went to new york when i was in second grade to take care of my great grandfather when he was sick witch we thought that was fine but he has died and she never came back, she never calls she only calls for money. I wouldnt say I hate my grand mom but she is just a piece of dirt to me.
I dont think parents hate thier childdren ever. They biologicly love you. Its thier kids and i am not saying they own you. Children always say they hate thier parents but i dont think thats true. I think they say that maybe cause thier mad or pistoff at the moment. When i said i hate my parents the next day i tottaly forget about it. So no parents or kids hate each other.
What I think is that most people say they hate someone when they are mad at them for something they did or didn't do. (Thats what I do and then later on I completely take it back). The word hate today is thrown around as a word meaning are mad at or in very few cases where they truly mean it, but that only happens if someone really does something bad. In truth when someone says they "hate their parents" thats just because their parents said that you couldn't do something or couldn't have anything.(unless your parents really mess up) :)MATT(:
there is always times wen we ALL think mom or dad i hate you, but really your just mad at them. they are two completely different things. hate i something that shouldnt be i believe. now me personally i may disagree or dislike my parents but i could never hate them. they brought me into this world and they are only trying to raise me to be a caring young man. and i truely think that if your parents hated you they shouldnt have had you. i still think Peters mother Lacy loves him dearly even though he screwed up big time like no going back she still loves him dearly and nothing would change that.
I think parents never really "hate" their kids. They might be mad at them, but they still love them. And it goes the same for kids. When parents tell their kids that they cant do something, or they yell and scream at them. Then the kids say" i hate my parents" but honestly you never really hate them. Yea you dislike them at that moment, but a few minutes later, or the next day they all still love each other. ~~ michaela howell(:
To me hate is a powerful word. I don't like to throw it around like its nothing but I do say it. Parents and children often come into the subject of hate. My mom always tells me not to say the word hate, when she does which is often. She doesn't speak to my grandmother and she often says she hates her, but if I ever say it to my mom I can't even imagine what would happen. My mom has told me she's hated me before, she's told me many many horrific things. I take them and it does hurt coming from your mom, but I don't fight back with her because since she is the parent she will always win. I just take everything she does and says and I remember not to do it to my kids when I get older.
I think it is impossible for parents to actually hate their child and vice versa. When the child is in their teenage years, they might have their on and off "hate" moments, but they will probably only last a short time. In the long run, I think the kids and parents will always love each other.
I think being a teenager, with all the mood swings that at times you feel a sort of hatred toward your parents. But then the next minute you love them. I agree with what Matt said. I think that an example of a true hatred toward parents would be how Sarah felt about her dad in Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes. I really do think that she hated him, but with what Chris Crutcher said about Virgil Byrnes having a convaluted way of "loving" his daughter. He thought that starving her and all was the right thing to do to keep his daughter under control. ~Jules :) P.S. I really like what Ben said.
I think everyone has slipped "I hate you" out of there mouth.I think when kids say that it's out of anger, they don't really mean it. Part of why we say it is we don't know how or feel like explaining how we really feel and 3 words are easier to mouth. I really don't think parents could hate there children either. We may say things to eachother that we don't meen but when push comes to shove we there for eachother.
for a parent to hate their kid in my opinion is sick.hate is a very strong word. even if the child goes out of their way (like how peter killed 10 students) you can not hate your kid. peter wasnt happy when he killed the populars he was crying. he didnt want to kill them but they pushed him so far to the point that he wanted to end it for all. now for a kid to hate their parents is different.if your mom or dad abuses you then that is a perfect reason to hate them. you may have disagreements with your parents and say you hate them just to show that their mad at them. in the end it all depends how the parent and kids relationship. parents must love and never desert their kid no matter what the sercumstances. -Haas
I agree how using the word "hate" is out of anger. When I was little I would always say I hate you to my parents, but I didn't mean it. I don't think parent's hate their children just get annoyed with them sometimes, but could never hate them.
kelsey, i know exacly what your saying. my mom is the exact same way.ive learned not to fight back because shes just ganna get all stubborn and just get me all pissed off. the best we can do in our cases is just take it all in. and i never ever ever want to raise my kids as my mom raised me. she puts me under so much preasure i cant take it. i used to smoke (pot) and drink but dont anymore. and the only thing i feel that would push me back down that road is my mom. -Haas
I agree with Hayley. The word hate can be used in different ways and meanings. Like the real hate: where you absolutely despise someone. But there is also the playful hate where you just say I hate you, but are just joking around. Sometimes people get angry and say it, but it is all in the moment and how you feel… later on you will most likely be buddy buddy again. So I don’t think you should or would or could hate your own child or parent for real… but then again in drastic cases you might. -Jessica s :)
i agree with austin. i think that they are only trying to raise you to be a good kid. so knowthat we all say "i hate you" to our parents but i dont think we everr mean it. ~Autumn <33
I've said the word hate many times but not to my parents. hate is defintely a strong word and i NEVER said that to my parents. sometime i'll get mad at them but not really say hate. and my parents DO NOT hate me b/c they love me for who i am and once in a while, if i bug them too much it might make them really mad. -Katiee(:
i think that kids may not hate their parents they just don't like them. and i think that over time people misconceive the word "hate" instead of using not liking their parents.
Its ok for parents and children to be mad at eachother but you should never ever hate eachother. Hate is a really strong word which can lead to a lot of problems if said at the wrong place and the wrong time. So dont hate congratulate! :^) -ROBERT-

Wow Kyle! Very honest. I remember my mom hating my grandmother too! Strange that we have that in common.
