What are some other ways, besides sex, to express your love or affection for a boyfriend or girlfriend?

As a girl, i think that love can be expressed in endless ways, but its the little things that count. (although i wouldnt say no to flowers every once in a while :) From expressing it in front of everyone, to the way you look at eachother. Simply having someone to hold me when i need them too or just because and know that they love me, would feel incredable and fufilling. I would feel content and beautiful in my own skin and that means more to me that a kiss. Sex is for marrage and it can be the ultimate bond that need to be filled with true love. Plus, Once your married, you know FOR SURE that the person you married must really love you too. So basically, Instead of risking everything with a person you MIGHT be with for the rest of your life, enjoy the little things. Thats what I plan to do. :) <3 ~Jenna<3~
I think love can be expressed in so many great ways! You could show you care by being interested in the others hardships and problems. Giving flowers or "just because" gifts once in a while is a great way to tell someone you are there for them,appriciate and love them. A simple gesture like a hug or a smile can bring two people together it doesn't have to go to the extreme. Just talking can be a great way to communicate love for one another too!
I am honestly so totally inexperienced with girls that I wouldn't even know which way was up and which way was down if I managed to ask a girl out AND they said yes. I would be like a blumbering idiot. I am however smart enough to know that the first time you go on a date with someone, you don't say "Hey lets have sex!". It just doesn't work that way. I think thought that for the guys, its definetly not going happen when they are 40. And for the girls, yea, I belive most of you girls can and will wait. But as Mr.G said we guys are morons.
I think that people can express their love for each other in tons of ways. Not just sex. Yes sex is one form of love. But most likely it is not true love. Unless the two people know that they are truly in love and will be with each other for the rest of their life, or most of it. Like i said before there are plenty of ways of expressing your feelings for one and other. Even down to the simplest things, like a box of chocolates when your having a bad day. The little things go a long way. It just lets the boyfriend/girlfriend know that you are still in love with them. So for speaking for the girls.... i think that girls wouldnt rush into anything. they would take it slow. They would want to get to know the person they like. And then possibly in the future have sex. But for the guys. im not sure. from what i heard in class today. Most of the guys would have sex with a girl they didnt like just to have sex. There are millions of ways to express love other than sex. Just talking can show you love someone. Hugs and kisses are great too. The perfect kiss at the perfect time is just amazing. Sex is like the top of the "what to do with your girlfriend ladder" and it shouldn't be done unless your really and truly in love with them. :)MATT(:
i agree with matt and jenna just holding your significant other can help in moment and make them feel like they are wanted and i think the perfect kiss can always help also when you go somewhere far away getting her a present no matter how small she knows it came from you and she will love it...also clothes(hats,sweatshirts, and tees) will also show that the girl that you want them to have something to remember you by with something to wear of yours...comforting them when they are down also helps...but in my opion there is a million ways to show someone you love them before sex could even come into the equation of love because as i have said earlier all that can be done first and if you both truly believe you love each other then maybe sex can happen but until the moment that the guy stops thinking with his pants that wont happen and he will know when he truly loves you and he will know when you truly love him but as mr g always says guys are dumb and if a girl was on top of him he wouldent say no..but there are exceptions to the rule and i think we should all wait until atleast 18 to make a mature and responsible choice for themselfs..but soo much could show you love someone other then sex...
I love everyone's responses and i agree! Love and affection can be expressed in sooooo many other ways than sex. Like Jenna said, i think love can be expressed in a billion different ways. Anything even a hug or a kiss shows that your boyfriend/girlfriend is thinking about you. I know the tiniest things can cheer me up on a bad day. Just knowing that someone's think about me makes me smile like craZy(: So yes, love and affection cann be expressed in maaannnyyy other ways then sex. Also John, i like what you said about giving a girl a present or gift, no matter how small, will always mean something to her. Every little thing that comes from a boyfriend/girlfriend means something to the other person...if that makes sense. hahah i can't really explain it but i did my best(:

Like Emilee said, the smallest things can make a girl smile and have a good day because of it. Just by a hug or kiss or making them smile or laugh can make their day and know that they love you. Love isnt only expressed in sex, there are sooo many other ways to show someone you love them.
You can defiantely express love in other ways than sex. I know that to make a girl feel good you could give her a hug compliment her. The one that would get me to fall in love would be when a guy calls you beautiful instead of hot. The word hot sounds like I'm calling you this because I want you....EW.... Like John said even a little gift could light up a girls day. I'm really not sure what a guy would want to hear from his girlfriend to let him know she loves him and I really don't want to be in a guys mind so yea the smallest things you boys say mean the most to girls......do for the guys who have girl friends and wantto impress her and show her you love her read some of the girls blogs because that is going to give you alot if help
